The new Smithville branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library opened Monday morning, Nov. 9. Originally, the library was planned for a Nov. 2 opening, but rain delayed construction work and pushed back the open date. The new library sits off U.S. Highway 169, just south of Saint Luke’s Northland Hospital-Smithville Campus. For the complete story, pick up the Wednesday, Nov. 18, edition of The Smithville Herald.
