FENTON --Erin Robinson's goal at the 16:11 mark of the first half has given Smithville High a 1-0 lead against St. Louis Notre Dame at halftime of the Class 2 girls soccer state semifinals at the Anheuser-Busch Center. Notre Dame couldn't capitalize on a handful of early scoring opportunities, including a header that just missed wide right in the opening minute. Once the Warriors got a good look, they capitalized, as Robinson, a sophomore forward and the team's leading scorer, dribbled through defenders in the center of the field before beating Rebels goaltender Megan Dayton to the left. Should the Warriors hold on, they would advance to their first state title game at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 6, against either Duchesne or Notre Dame de Sion.
